Matta is a Portland-based Vietnamese food cart, run by Richard Le, who is a Vietnamese-American born and raised in San Jose, CA. Their dishes are derived from family recipes from both of Richard’s families. Each of their dishes brings out certain memories and their mission isn’t to bring you an “authentic Vietnamese food experience” The mission is to show what happens when you raise a Vietnamese kid in the east side of San Jose, CA, and what kind of stories can be told from that.
Matta came to us and asked for a brand new website that can really represent their unique personality and provide a better experience for their customer. Growing up, Richard was deeply influenced by Asian and hip hop culture, I combined the two elements and came up with an edgy and bold look. I was also able to help them redesign the site architecture and user flow, which helps their customer to navigate throughout the page easier.
